Quadratus lumborum block is a trunk nerve block technique in which local anesthetic is injected around the quadratus lumborum. In recent years, the clinical application of quadratus lumborum block has become a research hotspot, and it is a popular analgesic method. Quadratus lumborum block has been gradually applied to multimode perioperative analgesia in cesarean section, gastrointestinal surgery, urologic and lower limb surgery, etc, and has also been reported in the treatment of chronic pain. In this paper, the applied anatomy, puncture approach, clinical application and possible mechanism of quadratus lumborum block were reviewed to provide evidence for its clinical application. |
