| Radial artery catheterization is a critical technique for hemodynamic monitoring in critically ill patients and perioperative management during major surgeries, offering irreplaceable value in clinical anesthesia and critical care medicine. Ultrasound guidance enhances procedural planning through real-time vascular visualization, shortens catheterization time, improves first-attempt success rates, and reduces complications. Given the aging population, increasing comorbidity burden, and growing surgical complexity, clinical demand for ultrasound-guided approaches is expected to rise. Nevertheless, challenges such as the learning curve and equipment dependence remain, warranting further investigation. This review systematically elaborates on the methods of ultrasound-guided radial artery puncture, the influencing factors of puncture and catheterization success rates, and complications associated with the procedure, with the aim of providing reference for clinical practice. |
