| The concept of value-based healthcare (VBHC) has garnered widespread attention in the medical field. It emphasizes providing patient-centered healthcare services that maximize “value”, making it an effective approach to achieving high-quality medical care. Anesthesiologists play a critical role in patient management throughout the perioperative period. They contribute to the implementation of VBHC by optimizing preoperative evaluation, selecting appropriate medications and anesthesia plans, and managing pain. This article explores the intersection of VBHC and anesthesiology, analyzing the role of anesthesiologists in advancing VBHC as well as the challenges they currently face. The aim of this paper is to provide insights and guidance for the integration and development of VBHC in anesthesiology. |
