| The serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block (SPSIPB) is a novel fascial plane block technique designed to provide effective analgesia for the ipsilateral hemithorax, shoulder, and cervicodorsal region. Recognized for its safety, clinical efficacy, and technical simplicity, SPSIPB has been increasingly applied inbreast, thoracic, cardiothoracic, clavicular, spinal, and shoulder surgeries, with demonstrated significant clinical effectiveness. This review systematically summarizes recent advances in SPSIPB research, encompassing its applied anatomical basis, procedural methodology, clinical applications, as well as its limitations, thereby providing a comprehensive reference for future investigations and optimized clinical utilization of this technique. |
